E20 compatibility

Is my car E20 compatible? Check in 30 seconds.

E20 petrol with a minimum 95 RON is the standard fuel at every Indian pump since 1 April 2026. For nearly every petrol car the answer to the compatibility question is yes — and FuelSaathi shows you the official document behind the verdict for your exact car. Select your manufacturer and model; the verdict and its source open together.

The 30-second answer

Every petrol car gets a clear, source-linked answer.

The FuelSaathi checker resolves your exact car — model year, engine and transmission — and returns the strongest official evidence available for it. The answer is never a guess: every verdict links to the manufacturer, institution or government document behind it.

Other petrol cars

Petrol cars without an exact-model record carry the green E20 Validated verdict: E20 is the ARAI-validated standard petrol at every Indian pump, and the Government of India's position is that it can be used in all petrol vehicles.

Verify it yourself

The four official ways to confirm your own car.

The checker gives you the answer and its source in 30 seconds. These four manufacturer-recognised methods let you confirm your own car's answer on the car itself.

01

Open the fuel lid

E20-ready cars carry a fuel-recommendation sticker on or near the fuel flap stating the approved blend. If it names E20, the manufacturer has certified the car for the fuel at every Indian pump.

02

Read the owner's-manual fuel section

The recommended-fuel section of the manual states the octane grade and the highest approved ethanol blend for your exact model year. FuelSaathi links the official manual on each car page where it is published.

03

Confirm the VIN with an authorised dealer

The dealer reads the manufacture date and fuel specification for your exact chassis from the VIN. This is the definitive per-vehicle confirmation, and it is free.

04

Check the manufacturer's compatibility list

Manufacturers publish E20 compatibility statements and model lists. FuelSaathi organises them by manufacturer with each official document ready to open.

Manufacturer manuals, brochures and compatibility statements are collected in the official documents library, each ready to open at the original source.

How compatibility was engineered in

Compatibility was engineered in, on the record.

India's E20 rollout followed the published national roadmap: vehicles were made ready before the fuel reached the pumps, and the industry has put its warranty commitment on the record.

April 2023

E20 material compatibility

Under the national roadmap, new vehicles rolled out E20-compliant materials — fuel lines, seals, pumps and injectors selected for the blend — from April 2023 onwards.

Next: the mileage question, answered with numbers.

Compatibility settled, the other common question is fuel economy. The official figures are specific and small — and FuelSaathi plans your budget with deliberate headroom on top of them.
