See the season your car actually experienced.

Use only full-tank segments. Compare at least three comparable segments in each group, then compare medians. FuelSaathi never inserts a fixed summer or winter coefficient.

The evidence rule

Three measured segments per group.

A segment is one complete fill-to-fill interval: distance divided by litres. Keep route profile, AC use, trip profile, traffic and tyre check close enough to compare. Do not compare a holiday highway tank with a short-city school-run tank.

  1. 1Tag every full-tank segment: hot, mild or cold-fog.
  2. 2Record route profile, AC, trip profile, traffic and whether tyres were checked cold against the driver-door placard.
  3. 3Use the median km/l for each group. Show the delta from mild only after each group has three comparable segments.

Read the result: a repeatable lower median is a prompt to inspect the matching context first—tyre placard check, service condition, congestion, AC demand and trip length—not proof that one season is always better or worse.

Why this method is cautious

Weather affects a car; a labelled test does not predict your tank.

DOE and EPA explain that hot and cold conditions can affect fuel economy through temperature, air-conditioning, warm-up and other operating loads. BEE labels are standard-laboratory context, not a substitute for your route. Maruti’s tyre guidance reinforces checking the vehicle’s specified pressure rather than guessing a universal number.
